Mazzocca Bros. Furniture & Antiques is a labor of love, and we hope you see that reflected in the selection and quality of the pieces we carry.

The story of Mazzocca Bros. Furniture & Antiques dates back to 2015 when owners Louis Mazzocca and his wife Holly purchased an historic 1904 home in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. As they began to furnish the house, Louis found himself spending time researching period furniture and décor and quickly realized how much he enjoyed sourcing, identifying and caring for old furniture and antiques. He also recognized there were high quality antique pieces available at reasonable prices (sometimes free), as long as one didn’t mind thoroughly cleaning and performing light restoration and repair. He discovered he enjoyed the repair and restoration just as much as he did the original sourcing. There is a certain sense of pride that comes along with bringing fine pieces of the past ‘back to life’ and giving them a second chance to bring joy to a home.

In January 2020, the couple purchased a building at 1021 Saratoga in Newport, Kentucky, which was in need of serious renovations and repair. Throughout the years, the building had housed a shoe shop, an antique coin company and a home remodeling business. Historic details of the building originally built in 1894 had been lost to time and replaced by a 1970s faux stone façade. Louis soon realized the restoration of the building and the launch of Mazzocca Bros. would require his full-time attention. He made the bold move to leave his corporate job and steady income to oversee restoration of the building and launch his dream business. Under Louis’s watchful eye, the building was transformed from an unloved vacant store front to a beautifully restored landmark reflecting its once hidden historic grandeur.

While Louis has a keen appreciation for the beauty of design and antiques, his brother Tom, a CPA by trade, has an appreciation for the accounting, tax and legal aspects of the business and oversees the back-office management of Mazzocca Bros.  While you may not always see Tom in the store, he is there in spirit and ensures the business runs smoothly.

The vision of Mazzocca Bros. Furniture and Antiques is to bring classic pieces back to life at an accessible price allowing them to shine for a second time. The materials and assembly methods used in furniture dating back to the early 1900s and prior can be recreated today, but almost always at an unattainable price. Antique furniture tells a story, it reduces the waste necessary to create new furnishings, and is often built with more care and higher quality materials than can be found today. Additionally, in most cases, when you move or your taste in furniture or decor changes, quality antiques and furniture can be resold at close to the purchase price, and in some cases at a higher price, if they have been properly cared for.

Our passion lies in sharing these beautiful furnishings and their stories with our customers. We hope you visit us soon to experience the joy for yourself.
