Early 1900s, American, from the Globe Wernicke Co., Cincinnati OH. A sectional step back file cabinet with barrister bookcase sections, in the 598 style (solid mahogany with oxidized brass sidebands). 7 pieces in total, starting from the bottom, including one tall fluted leg base, two 12 drawer flat file/map sections, one 6 drawer card index file section, two barrister bookcase sections, and one top. Flat file/map sections have wood drawer construction, card index section has metal drawers with Globe marked stops. Cabinet is in good original condition, but has honest wear throughout, including nicks, finish scratches, etc., but appropriate for a piece of this age and use. The card index file pulls have been previously replaced with Globe barrister style bookcase section pulls, and some side bands are modern replacements. Aside from that, the piece retains original pulls and label holders, finish and glass. Top has wear, including some light paint spatters and some veneer loss.
