Antique Globe Wernicke Sectional File Cabinet #610
Early 1900s, American, from the Globe Wernicke Co, Cincinnati OH. Quartersawn oak sectional or stacking double step back file cabinet, in the 298 style (quarter sawn figured oak, antique light finish/stain, with dull brush finish brass hardware). Seven pieces total, starting from the bottom, including 1 leg base with full length drawer, 1 standard four drawer section, 1 large flat file four drawer section, 1 deep legal blank/map file section, 1 shallow legal blank/map file section, 1 barrister bookcase section, and 1 top. In overall very good to excellent condition. Includes original finish and hardware. All sides are paneled and wonderful figuring of the quartersawn oak. This set has been assembled over the years, some slight variation to finish/stain color, but overall cohesive and a very good example of this rare configuration. Barrister section glass has been replaced at some point in the past, and some of the removable wood drawer dividers are no longer present.
